Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Kalu, has expressed sadness over the death of close aide of former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, Umar Pariya, Igbere TV reports.
The senator in a statement released by his media office, commiserated with Atiku, and the Pariya family over the sad loss.
Igbere TV reported that Pariya passed on Tuesday morning in Dubai, UAE after a brief illness.
A family source disclosed to Igbere TV that Pariya had been on life support for two weeks before his death.
The former governor of Abia state while describing late Pariya as hardworking, honest and God-fearing, prayed to Allah to grant the late Pariya Al-Jannah Firdaus.
He said; “The late Pariya was urbane, humble,easygoing and respectful.”He was indeed a loyal and dedicated associate of Alhaji Abubakar.
“I pray to Allah to give the former Vice President and members of the deceased’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“Kalu urged Alhaji Abubakar to take solace in the fact that the late Pariya will be remembered for his good deeds.
