JUST IN: Blackface Finally Drags 2face To Court Over 'Song Theft'

Pop musician, Augustine Ahmedu, popularly known as Blackface, has filed a legal suit against colleague, 2face Idibia, for alleged song theft.

Blackface claims to have co-written ‘African Queen’ with 2face who featured it in his debut solo album Face 2 Face in 2004.

The duo have been in a long battle over who should have rights to the song which turned out to be an international hit.

In a post on Tuesday on Instagram, Blackface said he was forced to use legal means after other means failed.

2face had in July 2018 filed a N50 million suit against Blackface who was a part of the Plantashun Boiz group for claiming he wrote ‘Let Somebody Love You’ and ‘African Queen’.

Blackface has over the years accused 2face of song theft and failure to give him credits for his songs.

The Benue-born singer also accused the iconic singer of orchestrating his marginalisation in the music industry.

In March 2019, Blackface released a diss track titled ‘War’ directed at 2face.
