Hoodlums have made away with a ballot box at the Ayetoro ward 1 unit 004 where Senator Dino Melaye voted Saturday morning.
Melaye is contesting Kogi West senatorial seat with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Smart Adeyemi, as his major contender.
The men arrived the polling unit in two Hilux vans and a Honda Civic car less than an hour after Melaye left.
On arrival, the hoodlums shot into the air to disperse the crowd.
Some residents in the area could not catch up with the vehicles as they sped off.
Tensions have been high in Kogi as both camps of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have accused each other of brewing trouble.
