56-year-old Salahudeen Jamiu, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Ogun state police command for allegedly conducting an abortion that killed a housewife identified as Kehinde Olakitan.
A statement from the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the deceased, a mother of four, had gone to Salahudeen’s hospital, Mojisola Maternity Clinic, for an abortion without the consent of her husband.
During the abortion procedure by the quack doctor, the deceased suffered a medical emergency and died.
A friend of hers, Dupe Odebunmi, who went with her to the hospital, alerted her husband, informing him that his wife was on admission.
However, before he could get to the hospital, the suspect and his accomplices had evacuated Kehinde’s body and dumped it at a building near his residence.
Angered by the development, Mr Olakitan filed a complaint at the Onipanu police station which led to a manhunt of the fake doctor and his eventual arrest.
