A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) an interim forfeiture order on 23 landed properties linked to the former chairman of Presidential Taskforce on Pension Reforms Committee, Abdurasheed Maina.
Justice Folasade Giwa-Ogunbanjo granted the order on Tuesday after hearing EFCC’s ex-parte motion.
EFCC counsel, SM Abubakar, moved the application under section 17(1) of the EFCC Act.
The commission also sought an order of the court to publish an advert on the properties in a national daily, to enable anyone who has any reason why they should not be finally forfeited to the Federal Government to come forward and prove same.
Justice Giwa-Ogunbanjo ordered the EFCC to return to the court on November 19 for the mentioning of the case.
