An attack on a military convoy in Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents on October 3, left 11 soldiers dead and 14 others injured.
The 34 soldiers including two officers who were ambushed by Boko Haram insurgents at about 11:25 a.m, were on patrol at Mauli-Borgozo area of the state.
Eyewitnesses told Premium Times that the terrorists stole eleven AK-47 rifles from the soldiers they killed, made away with an anti-aircraft gun truck, damaged a gun truck and a military lorry used in conveying officers and equipment.
Two soldiers were declared missing in the action after the attack which also left at least 15 civilians dead. It is however unclear if any of them belonged to Boko Haram.
