Nine soldiers have been killed by yet to be identified gunmen in Sunke village in Anka local government area of Zamfara state.
The gunmen who rode on motorcycles, stormed the village yesterday Thursday October 3rd and opened fire on the soldiers who were station in the village.
Residents claim the killing might be a retaliation for the killing of some bandits in the village by some soldiers recently.
“Soldiers killed some of the repentant bandits and they vowed to avenge the attacks.
The repentant bandits mobilized their men and raided the army formation in the village,” a resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said.
The Army is yet to react to this incident.
