Nigeria At 59: Arsenal Celebrate Nigeria’s Independence In Pidgin

Arsenal Football Club has celebrated Nigeria’s independence in Pidgin English.

The football club based in North London, in a tweet on Tuesday, posted a picture of former Nigerian international, Kanu Nwankwo, as an icon to mark Nigeria’s 59th independence anniversary.

“Chei! Abeg comot for road! Today, Nigeria celebrates independence! 🇳🇬 Best wishes to you, Naija Gooners,” the tweet read.

Kanu signed for Arsenal for approximately £4.15 million in 1999.

He scored over 40 goals for the Gunners until his departure in 2004.
