Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Abayomi Olonisakin, and other heads of security agencies on Monday graced the invitation of the House of Representatives for a discourse on security in the country.
Olonisakin alongside the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas, and the Chief of the Air Staff (CAF), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, had skipped the meeting which was earlier called on Friday.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila turned back the representatives sent by the top military brass, saying it was an insult to the parliament.
He also promised to report the matter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, were absent at the meeting on Monday.
They sent representatives after appearing in person on Friday.
The lawmakers have now gone behind closed doors with the security chiefs.
