How Fayose Lost Ekiti – Vanguard

The declaration of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election was reflective of the cyclic turn of the governorship of the state since the advent of the Fourth Republic. Since the Alliance for Democracy, AD first won the governorship of the state in 1999; no particular political party had won re-election in a governorship contest.

Ekiti election: PDP reveals amount ‘shared’ by APC to buy votes, blames police

South West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rejected the outcome of the result of the governorship election held in Ekiti State on Saturday.

The party blamed the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly allowing the malpractice that led to the defeat of their candidate.

PDP said police gave an opportunity to the members of the All progressives Congress, APC, to be sharing money to buy votes.

The National Vice Chairman of the PDP , Dr . Eddy Olafeso, spoke with journalists in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Sunday.

He alleged that the APC spent N18 billion on the election, declaring that the winner of the election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi deserved no congratulation message from the PDP.

He said, “We have witnessed what happened in Ekiti State, despite our crying and screaming to the Nigerian people that the APC government was coming to Ekiti to destroy and disrupt democracy, to rig elections and to muscle us out and they eventually scientifically carried out what we have been warning the Nigerian people about.

”What transpired in Ekiti is not democracy but a complete rape of democracy and the will of the people. It is rather unfortunate we witnessed this despite the fact that APC bequeathed to this nation .

”This is a prelude to what we should be expecting in 2019, we have been rigged out , we have been muscled out with the connivance of the police force in particular. The police gave coverage for the open corruption that APC stalwarts got involved in Ekiti State.

”They chased all our agents away and put on their neck PDP agents tags and signed across all documents for them but one day truth will come out. We rejected in totality the outcome of Ekiti election.

”This is the limit of corruption and we warned before the election that the Abacha loot that is being taken and distributed without any appropriation is going to find its way to Ekiti. It was like a trading place and they turned our democracy upside down.

”This is rather unfortunate and they are going to severely pay for it because this history will not go unchecked and we are going to do everything possible to ensure that we cleanse the whole country as soon as we come into power in 2019.”

BREAKING: Gov. Ortom dumps APC

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, at the banquet hall of the Government House in Makurdi on Monday announced that he is no longer a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ortom stated this while swearing in the newly-appointed Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftain Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe disclosed that the APC had given him the red card.

Speaking with DAILY POST on Monday, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, quoted his principal as saying, “As for party, I’ve been given the red card and I’m now outside the pitch. So, if I have been given the red card and I’m standing outside, that means I’m a free man.”

IgbereTv recalls that Governor Ortom had been reported as considering to dump the APC

Meanwhile, the Governor is yet to disclose the party he is moving to, assuring however that as soon as he makes up his mind in that regard, he would make it known to the Benue people.

He said, “I don’t know what will happen next but I’m waiting. If others approach me, then I will tell the Benue people that I’m joining another football club.”

He therefore called on the people of the state to remain united and not allow party or ethnicity cause division among them, stressing that God who helped him to win in 2015 is well able to see him through in the coming general elections.

“Let party or ethnicity not divide us. I’m a child of destiny and it’s only a God that will decide what I will be. These challenges that we see today, we shall see them no more. All that we are required to do is not to begin to be wayward in our conduct but to move to the righteous side of God. Once we do that, things will work out for our good,” he said.

How Man Was Sent To Prison After Selling Company’s Cable To Buy N100 Bread

A 39-year old company driver, Mr. Jonah Ehiwe, has been arrested for allegedly stealing company’s property to buy N100 bread at Bola Jegede Close in Ajao Estate, Lagos.

The police alleged that Mr. Ehiwe stole a cable belonging to the hotel and was caught in the act by the security men on duty. He was then handed over to the police at Ajao Estate for prosecution for the offence.

However, the suspect informed the police that he was employed as a driver and had not been paid. He said that he had gone to the management to borrow money to buy food, so that when they want to pay his salary it can be deducted from it but they refused. He explained that he saw the cable and decided to take to sell it as scrap in order to buy bread. He said they arrested him and claimed that he stole it.

It was gathered that the police attempted to intervene since the item was recovered but the management insisted that Ehiwe must be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to other staff who might want to try such.

He was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for stealing and he pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail and remanded in prison custody to perfect his bail condition.

On the adjourned date, Ehiwe changed his position and pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale, presented the facts before the court and asked the court to sentence him accordingly.

During the session, Mr. Ehiwe informed the court about his pitiable condition after he was employed by the complainant who did not pay his salary. He narrated how he even asked them to lend him money to buy bread in order to have strength to work but they refused.

He said he then saw the cable on the floor, picked it to sell as scrap before the security men arrested and handed him over to the police.

P.M.Express confirmed that his narration attracted sympathy in the court room as litigants expressed pity about his situation.
However, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo, found him guilty as charged, but discharged and released him from prison custody and he was allowed to go home.

Two Fans Die In Paris While Celebrating France World Cup Victory

Two football fans have died in France overnight as World Cup celebrations were marred by violence following the national side’s victory over Croatia in Moscow.

Police forces fired tear gas as scuffles and pockets of looting broke out on the Champs-Élysées where a million people partied into the night.

Revellers set off smoke bombs in the national colours – blue, white and red – obscuring Napoleon’s triumphal arch as officers tackled the crowd using water canons.

People climbed on newspaper kiosks and bus stops in the area to wave flags while the Marseillaise national anthem rang out and cars honked their horns following the final whistle. But the celebrations soured as looters broke into shop fronts and smashed windows before they were driven back by riot police brandishing shields and batons.

In the Alpine city of Annecy, a 50-year-old France fan broke his neck after jumping into a canal at the end of the team’s 4-2 triumph. Then, in nearby Saint-Felix, there was another death when a man in his 30s crashed his car into a tree as he celebrated the win.

There was also serious trouble in the eastern city of Lyon, where hundreds of youths went on the rampage, attacking cars and setting fire to wheelie-bins. One video showed a Lacoste clothes shop being ransacked, as thieves wearing France shirts ran off with T-shirts.

Married Minister Forced To Resign After Leaked Sex Text Messages. Photos

A married Conservative minister has quit after he bombarded two barmaids with 2,000 texts making sexual demands. Andrew Griffiths gave £700 to Imogen Treharne and her friend and even offered to rent out a flat so that they could hook up while demanding they send him something ‘f****** filthy’.

Describing himself as ‘evil’, the 47-year-old outlined degrading sex acts, demanding explicit pictures and videos and said he’d rather be ‘licking naughty girls’ instead of ‘running the country’.

When Ms Treharne sent a video of her spanking another woman, he told her it was ‘nowhere near hard enough’ and asked if she could take a beating, Mirror Online reports.

On Friday he said he was ‘deeply shamed’, assured the public he was seeking help and apologised to Theresa May for his behaviour after sending two constituents messages about violent sado-masochism.

Renowned for creating Women to Win to boost female MPs, the prime minister’s former adviser unleashed a torrent of messages almost daily for three weeks.

The Burton and Uttoxeter MP referred to himself as ‘Daddy’ in messages, writing: ‘I’m the daddy with power. I’m the daddy with the naughtiest streak.’

After sending the women £200 to buy ‘treats’, he wrote: ‘A horny daddy is a generous daddy.’

He boasted about swigging champagne at Buckingham Palace with Prince Charles, claimed to friends with Katherine Jenkins and told the women Katie Price ‘looked like a cat’ after meeting the model at a fundraiser.

The politician bombarded the pair with messages after getting in contact with them online.

Mr Griffiths – who earns about £100,000 a year – resigned following a meeting with Chief Whip Julian Smith who determined that the messages amounted to a breach of the Ministerial Code.

A senior source said the Prime Minister had agreed that Mr Griffiths had ‘fallen short of the expected standards of Ministerial behaviour’ by sending the messages.

World Cup: Slay Queens Offers Free S@x To Celebrate France Victory

France prostitutes celebrate world cup victory in a grand style by offering free for all sex to their prospective clients.

EbonyiDaily understands that Since 1804, under Napoleon, prostitution has been legal in France, with sex workers required to be legally registered with the government and to report for fortnightly health inspections with physicians.

The sex work industry in France remained largely unchanged until 2016 when the French National Assembly voted to punish those soliciting sex for money with a fine. Currently, sex work is still technically legal in France, though advertising one’s sexual services can result in a fine, and buying a sex worker’s services is also illegal. In order to punish sex workers, the Sexuality, Poverty and Law Programme reports that many French police officers will simply arrest them for “public disorder, vagrancy, [or] loitering.”

Visiting former United States President Barrack Obama on Sunday elevated his elder half-sister Auma Obama during his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The ex-world’s most powerful man touched down in Nairobi as a private citizen shortly after midday.

He then proceeded to the Nairobi Statehouse where he was received by Deputy President William Ruto.

He then held talks with the Head of State in the presence of Auma who was present all through, a confirmation of the trust and love he has for the sister.

An almost similar scenario  was evident when he rode with her in his presidential limousine dubbed the ‘beast’ in his last tour as President.

Obama later held similar talks with opposition leader Raila Odinga at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel and is set to travel to Kisumu county on his way to his Kogelo backyard in Siaya county on Monday.

In Kogelo, Obama who is accompanied by an entourage of about 100 officials is set to launch a number of projects initiated by Auma before leaving for South Africa for a 4 day tour.

In South Africa, he will deliver the annual Nelson Mandela lecture.

This is his fifth tour of the nation and the first as former President.
