Speaking during a live radio interview in Uyo, Sowore revealed that he only reached out to the former governor when he (Akpabio) had an accident and was flown to London for medical treatment.

In his words,

“Everyone knows that Godswill Akpabio is a heavy spender and he can spend any amount to buy over whoever he wants.”

“I can’t recount how many times he sent people with fat sums of money to me, just to buy me over, so that I could stop criticizing his corrupt leadership. I always rejected his overtures, and I never answered him.”

“The day I answered him was after he had an accident and was flown to London for treatment. He can confirm this, I reached out to him and asked, “you said you built a world class hospital in Akwa Ibom, how come you chose to fly out for medical treatment?”, he said.
