2019: "I'm on Rescue Mission, Bende Desperate for Change" - Benjamin Kalu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in 2019 General Election, Barrister Benjamin Kalu has urged youths to make sure that they participate in 2019 general elections.

He revealed that the youths are the energy of the nation and charged them to ensure that they take their future by their own hands by coming out to vote for the candidate of their choice. He also charged them not to allow anyone to use them to cause violence during the polls.

The philanthropist also said that Bende people are solidly behind him because they want adequate representation.

Kalu made these known during a live program ‘People’s parliament’ which was monitored by Igbere TV.

In his words,

“What attracted me to politics is the need for national development. Our country is in need of developing from where we are to where we should be. When you do a comparative analysis with countries like us, you will discover that we have room for improvement ”

“My interest in building the country didn’t start today, it started during my university days, I have always shown interest in patriotism. It is important that I give back to my country, because if I don’t give back to my country, there is nothing my country will give back to me “.

Speaking on the award given to him recently by the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Kalu said he was given an award “Distinguished Youth Motivator of the Year 2018” from the University because of how much he has impacted and improved the lives of so many youths in Nigeria through empowerment programs.

He also applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for improving the lives of many youths through N-power initiative program and urged him to continue his good work.

“I believe that the youths are energy of the nation and no nation can do without us but over the years people disregard the youths, they look down on the us”.

“And that’s why you see youths waiting for their father to die before taking over their father’s business or define their own political career.”

“Youths shouldn’t just be observers of elections, they should participate from grassroots level to the national level, they should join political parties ”

Kalu also warned youths not to allow anyone to buy their votes, and urged them to see any politician who wants to buy their votes as an enemy.

On whether he is desperate to win next year’s election, Kalu revealed that Bende people are desperate for good representation.

According to him, “Bende people are desperate for good representation, they want a competent man especially on ideas who will represent their interest on national and global stage. A messenger with a message. Someone who will not do as he likes. Someone who will listen to Bende elders and bring solutions they desire to our problems .”

“Someone who will build capacity rice mills for hard working farmers in Amakanu, Ugwueke, Ozuitem, Igbere, Uzoakoli and others.

“They want reactivated, expanded, upgraded, oil mills at Amaokwe for all the neighboring oil producers.

Bende needs motorable feeder Roads for her elegant okra farmers from Ozuitem and all the industrial farmers and market women.

Bende is desperate for federal presence and a change in governance that will bring progress in terms of infrastructure, education and youths empowerment ”

Kalu said these are the reasons Bende is desperate to have him at the National assembly because they believe that he will deliver. And Bende people have been supportive through prayers, donations, advice.

Many callers who called in during the program appreciated Barrister Benjamin Kalu for coming out to rescue them.
