BREAKING!!! Former Governor Of Abia State, T. A Orji Caught Sharing Money To INEC Officials(Photos)

As 2019 general election draws nearer, former Governor of Abia State, Senator T. A Orji has been caught sharing millions of naira to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials in the state.

Senator T. A. Orji reportedly visited the INEC office on 3rd September 2018 which prompted the INEC officials to welcome him while the Senator doled out huge amount of money which is against the law of INEC.

Meanwhile, a group known as ‘Abians for Good Governance’ (AGG) has condemned the development in an open letter to the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu. AGG revealed that the development was a violation of INEC’s code of conduct and demanded an investigation into the matter.

“The visit of the former governor few months to the general election and the cash gift openly doled out to staff is suspicious and highly objectionable,” AGG said in the letter published on Monday.

“It is nothing but a subtle action to influence the predisposition of the election officials. It should be investigated and corresponding action meted.

“The commission should not remain taciturn considering the wide-ranging condemnation that trailed the visit and the pictures of the scene released online.

“We, therefore, demand explanation for the visit and also the immediate redeployment of INEC principal officers in Abia State.

“We have suffered almost two decades of bad government and have collectively resolved to retrieve the carcass of our God’s own state from chasm where it is deposited come 2019.

“Any form of acquiescence from the electoral umpires to subvert our wish will be resisted this time.

“We use this medium to urge you to monitor the activities of your staff to ensure decorum as we head to the poll in six months’ time,” AGG said.

INEC is yet to respond to the open letter.
