In a bid to cushion the effects caused by the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, the Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Hon. Barrister Benjamin .O. Kalu through his Foundation, on Saturday, gifted Abians foods items , health materials and other packages, Igbere TV reports.
Delivering the items on behalf of Hon Benjamin Kalu, the Spokesman of the foundation said BenKalu vowed to do more for the good of Abia State especially his constituency, Bende.
He charged the good people of Abia State to maintain good personal hygiene and obey the guidelines released by the government and World Health Organisation.
The Spokesman said : “The Coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the World has caused many people to lockdown their shops.”
“Others have also been indoors following government directives in order to curtail the deadly Coronavirus.”
“So in order to cushion the effects caused by this Covid-19 pandemic, Hon. Benjamin Kalu decided to donate these food items, health materials to the good people of Abia State and also assured them that more packages are coming”
He appreciated the effort of President Muhammadu Buhari who has been doing his best to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread to many States in Nigeria.
” I also appreciate the effort of Abia State Government”, he added.
Speaking with Igbere TV, some of beneficiaries thanked Hon. Benjamin Kalu for the food items and described him as a rare gem and a gift by God to the people of Abia State.
