I Never Said Buhari Will Take 10 Million Nigerians Out Of Poverty - Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has denied saying President Muhammadu Buhari will take 10 million Nigerians out of poverty, Igbere TV reports.

Reports had it on Thursday that Osinbajo said President Buhari would take 10 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years.

He reportedly made the pledge when he paid homage at the palace of Emir of Gwandu, HRH Muhammadu Bashar, in Kebbi State.

But reacting to the controversies surrounding the statement, Osinbajo said he never said 10 million Nigerians but 100.

The Vice President, who spoke through his Media Aide Laolu Akande, in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV, on Friday, wrote;

“FOR THE RECORDS: VP Osinbajo said earlier today @ Emir of Gwandu’s palace in Kebbi that “the President has promised that by the Grace of God, we will take 100m Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.” The VP could’nt have said 10m Nigerians. Please ignore any misleading reports.”
