Xenophobia: Nigerians Hail Air Peace CEO For Airlifting 187 S’Africa Returnees

Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Peace Airlines, Allen Onyema, has been trending on Twitter since early Thursday, Igbere TV has observed.

This followed the successful evacuation of some Nigerians from South Africa, following the renewed xenophobic attacks in that country.

Igbere TV had reported that 187 Nigerians, who voluntarily indicated interest to return home, arrived Nigeria Wednesday night through the Lagos Airport.

They were airlifted by Air Peace at no cost, while the Airline company bears the entire bill burden for their flight, according to its Founder and CEO.

This development has caused many Nigerians to heap praises and prayers on Onyema, even as some pledged to make Air Peace their official flying company.

In an emotional video sighted by Igbere TV on Wednesday, the Air Peace CEO was also seen crying profusely as he received the 187 returnees from South Africa at the Lagos airport.

Nigerians have expressed satisfaction, hailing him for airlifting all those who indicated interest, not minding their ethnic group or religious belief.

Already, an observation on Air Peace official Twitter handle (@flyAirPeace), showed that the follower count of the company on the platform had tripled.

Here are some screenshots obtained by Igbere TV showing some of the reactions. See below…
