2019: Buhari hints on seeking re-election, says ‘people of Kano in my pocket’

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday hinted on seeking a second four-year term in 2019.

Speaking in Kano, on Thursday, the President said if elections were to be free and fair, “people of Kano are in my pocket.”

According to Buhari, “I know the elections. If they are to be free and fair, if it is a question of numbers, if it is a question of allowing people to make their choice, then I think the people of Kano are in my pocket.”

Buhari is currently on a two-day working visit in Kano State.

The president made history in 2015 by becoming the first opposition candidate in Nigeria to defeat a sitting President.

Recall that Buhari has told the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II that nobody could disabuse the minds of Nigerians on his clear intentions for the country and its citizens concerning his electoral promises prior to the 2015 presidential election.
