President of the United States (U.S), Donald Trump, has fired his National Security Adviser John Bolton, Igbere TV reports.
President Trump announced the development in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV on his verified handle (@realDonaldTrump) on Tuesday.
βI informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House,β he wrote.
βI disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions,β Trump added, revealing that a new national security adviser would be appointed next week.
The firing comes amid reports of divisions in the Trump cabinet over a cancelled peace plan to invite the Taliban to the U.S.
Mr. Bolton had been accused of running the National Security Council, which advises the president, as a “one man show”.
