Jubilations As Gov. Umahi Transforms Ogwu Bridge Within 6Months, Promises To Do More(Photos)

There was wild jubilation today in Ogwu Community, located in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State following the transformation and completion of a bridge in the community by Governor David Nweze Umahi.

Igbere TV gathered that the bridge which serves a major connector between Ogwu community and Mgbede, Ishiagu in Ivo LGA of Ebonyi state was transformed within six months.

Speaking with Igbere TV correspondent during the inspection of the bridge, some of the villagers thanked Engineer David Nweze Umahi for coming to their rescue.

A farmer who identified himself as Mr. Emeka described Umahi as “a talk and do governor”.

He said before the bridge was built, they used to find it very difficult going to their farms especially during raining season.

According to him, “Umahi is a kindhearted man whom I always call talk and do governor because he always delivers his promises”.

“He promised to build this bridge for us, look at it now, it has been completed within four months”.

“May God continue to keep him safe for us because he is a God sent for the people of Ebonyi State”, he added.

Meanwhile, speaking during the inspection of the Bridge, Mr. Francis Nweze, Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, assured the people that Umahi will continue to do more for them.

He said what he is seeing today would be difficult for anyone to believe that the makeshift bridge is now transformed into a complete four span modern bridge.

He added that the bridge has been transformed beyond recognition. And the farmers can now freely go to their farm lands and transport their farm produce to different markets with ease.

He, however, noted that the relationship between the two communities has also been strengthened as their means of interaction is now easier unlike before that it is life risking to mingle across the makeshift bridge.

He said : “If I had not seen this makeshift bridge before now, I would have not believed in the reality I am seeing today just like it will be difficult for anyone to believe that the makeshift bridge is now transformed into a complete four span modern bridge.”

“I captured the above two pictures myself; the first was six Months ago while the last was early hours of today as we went to see the level of development that has occurred in the bridge. We were happy when we got there to see that so much have happened in the scene within just six months.”

“This Bridge serves as a major connector between Ogwu community and Mgbede, Ishiagu in Ivo LGA of Ebonyi state. Before now, it was usually tasking on the part of Ogwu people to cross the Makeshift Bridge to their major farm land called Ani-Ojii which is located just before the Mgbede village as whosoever that is making use of the temporal bridge is certainly risking his/her life.”

“However, the bridge has been transformed beyond recognition. The farmers can now freely go to their farm lands and transport their farm produce to different markets with ease.”

“The relationship between the two communities has also been strengthened as their means of interaction is now easier unlike before that it is life risking to mingle across the makeshift bridge.”

“We are indeed grateful to the governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi who is making the impossible now possible. You can easily strike the difference between the Abakaliki of yesterday and the New Abakaliki of our dream through the striking difference between the Ogwu Makeshift Bridge and Modern Ogwu Bridge.”

“God Bless Governor David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE.”
