The Minister of State for Mines and Steel, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has congratulated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State as the state clock 28 this year, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that Abia, a Southeastern state, was created on August 27, 1991 from the old Imo State with Umuahia as state capital.
In statement personally signed by him and sent to Igbere TV on Tuesday, the Minister expressed optimism that the state would achieve its goals, despite challenges facing it at the moment.
The 2019 APC governorship candidate in Abia, therefore, called on the people of the state not to lose focus, but remained determined and work with the leaders towards achieving the said goals.

“I want to personally congratulate His Excellency Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the good people of Abia State on this occasion of the 28th anniversary of our State’s creation.
“As I reflect on our journey so far, how far we have come, the contributions of our people to the larger society, I am confident that we have a glorious future ahead of us.
“Despite the challenges of the moment, I have the hope that with our culture of fearless determination, industry, creativity, believe in God and love for education, we are equipped enough to surmount our challenges and to overcome every difficulty. We are a people notable for our creative ingenuity and passion, whatever we are determined to achieve we can achieve the odds against us notwithstanding.
“Hence, I know that going forward, with all the ingredients that makes up our DNA, we are going to achieve the Abia of our dreams and redeem the hope of our founding fathers.
