President Muhammadu Buhari and his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari have come under fire following a directive by the President to Ministers-designate, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV had reported that President Buhari on Tuesday, directed the incoming ministers to channel all requests for meetings with him through Mr Kyari.
Buhari gave the directive at the end of the two-day special retreat for Ministers-designate and other top government functionaries at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
“In terms of coordination, kindly ensure that all submissions for my attention or meeting requests be channelled through the Chief of Staff, while all Federal Executive Council matters be coordinated through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF),” Buhari had said.
Nigerians have taken to Twitter to comment on the issue, with many taking a swipe at the president and describing him as a ‘TV’, with Kyari as the ‘remote’ control.
This is even as some have put up some meme describing the CoS as ‘Nigeria’s de-facto president’, and vice president Yemi Osinbajo as ‘Buhari’s ‘Special Adviser on TraderMoni.’
