Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has ordered the immediate release of relief materials to internally displaced persons in Isu, Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state, Igbere TV reports.
The governor in a statement sent to Igbere TV by Chief John Okiyi-Kalu, Commissioner for Information, said the order is following the report of the plight of the people who were displaced as a result of the crisis with another community in a neighbouring state.
Governor Ikpeazu also ordered security agents to ensure adequate measures are taken to protect the people of the community from further attacks, assuring that the issues that led to the conflict are being resolved.

“The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the release of additional relief materials to displaced persons of Isu community in Arochukwu Local Government Area of the State.
“Governor Ikpeazu received reports on the plight of people of the community who were displaced following a boundary conflict with another community in a neighboring state and has directed that relief materials be delivered to them on or before this weekend.
“The Governor also directed security agencies in the state to take necessary measures to ensure the protection of the people of the community from further attacks and displacement pending the full resolution of the issues that led to the conflict.”
