Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has said that no member of the group was arrested by German authorities, Igbere TV reports.
Kanu stated this while addressing supporters of the group during a live broadcast on Radio Biafra monitored by Igbere TV, on Sunday.
He was reacting to a statement credited to Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, who earlier made the allegations.
Dabiri-Erewa claims comes on the heels of the attack on former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu by members of IPOB in Germany, on Saturday.
But reacting in the broadcast monitored by Igbere TV, Kanu described the report as false, maintaining that no member of the group was ever arrested.
The IPOB leader added that the German authorities were more civilized, unlike what he said was obtainable in ‘the zoo.’
“It is a pure lie ‘from the zoo’, none of our member was ever arrested by the German authorities, and none will be arrested”, Kanu said.
He described the attack on Senator Ekweremadu by the IPOB as “courageous”, while sending a note of warning to Governors in the South East region.
