BREAKING: Ohaneze Reveals Identities Of Ekweremadu’s Attackers

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, has reacted to the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV had reported that the immediate past Deputy Senate President was attacked and disgraced by aggrieved members of IPOB at an event in Germany, on Saturday.

The Enugu West Senator who was attending the 2nd Annual Igbo Cultural Festival as Guest Speaker, at the event organised by Igbo Community in Germany, was beaten up and publicly humiliated.

In a statement sent to Igbere TV on Sunday by OYC Secretary-General, Okwu Nnabuike, he said the group had identified the sponsors of the attack and would soon expose them.

The Ohaneze Youth said its investigation showed that the action of the IPOB members and their pay masters was all about the 2023 elections.

“This is an affront not just on Ekweremadu but on Ndigbo, which Ekweremadu represents. It is on record that Distinguished Senator Ike Ekweremadu has put his very best in championing Igbo interest in and out of the National Assembly.

“It is therefore a slap on our face for anyone to visit such animalistic treatment on him under whatever guise.

“From our investigation, we understand that this is all about 2023, but we shall soon expose the politicians behind this dance of shame. They hid under the IPOB to perpetrate this global shame.

“On the part of IPOB, for allowing itself to be used, it has touched the tail of a lion. Indeed this shall not be taken for granted.

“If IPOB so love Ndigbo as it claims, what strategy has it put in place to checkmate the excesses of the herdsmen in Igbo land? We repeat, their action was purely sponsored by politicians and they should get ready to hear from us”, the statement partly read.
