Siasia Speaks For The First Time After FIFA’s Life Ban

Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, says he cannot speak on his ban by FIFA as he was still searching for his kidnapped mother, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV had previously reported that kidnappers have taken the old mother of the ex football star, demanding N30 million as ransom for her release.

Speaking through his media aide, Opukiri Jones Ere, on Saturday, Siasia, however, said his lawyer will look into the recent FIFA’s life ban handed to him.

Ere who expressed shock over the development, spoke at a press conference organized by his principal to clear the air surrounding the issue.

He said the award-winning coach, Siasia, who accused the football ruling body of dishing out punishment without contacting him, will brief the press in due course.

“We want to please plead with you that the issue has been handed over to a lawyer and they are looking at the case.

“I am speaking to you on his behalf this morning concerning the issues raised yesterday.

“So, at this moment coach Siasia will be unavailable to speak to the press.

“I also want to appeal to you the press that he is going through so much stress concerning his mother’s kidnap which we are dealing with at the moment.

“So, we want to say that he is unavoidably absent today to speak to the press. We appreciate you all for coming, your concerns at the moment.

“The messages that have been received, the solidarity that have been received from the onset of this situation, my kind appeal to you guys is just for you to give us some time for the lawyers to look into the case.

“As soon as possible, I think by next week we will call on you guys to inform you of actions that will be taken.

“So, on behalf of the family of Samson Siasia I want to thank you all for coming and we pray that this well end well”, Ere said.
