The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday arraigned Mr Abdullahi Babalele, son-in-law of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, before a Federal High Court, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV had previously reported the arrest of Babalele and Uyi Giwa Osagie, lawyer to the former presidential candidate and two-time vice president.
Atiku’s in-law was arraigned for allegedly laundering $140,000 in the build up to the 2019 general election.
Osagie was also arraigned for allegedly laundering $2 million in connection with the elections.
Igbere TV reports that the duo were arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Wednesday.
Atiku contested the presidential election under the PDP platform but lost to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
