President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Senator Babajide Omoworare as his new aide on National Assembly Matters, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that Buhari picked Omoworare after dropping his former aide, Senator Ita Enang, who was appointed in his first term.
The new aide, who is from Osun State, Nigeria, is the former Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District.
“Enang is believed to have underperformed in managing the relationship between the president and the 8th Senate, despite being a former senator himself”, a presidency source told newsmen.
Mr Enang, a former senator from Akwa Ibom State, was appointed as Special Assistant on NASS Matters during the president’s first term.
He has continued to act in that capacity in Buhari’s second term, even when his appointment, like that of several other aides, has not been renewed.
The Presidency is expected to formally announce the development anytime soon.
