There was drama on Friday at the Senate as Senator Dino Melaye asked Festus Keyamo, a Ministerial nominee, to recite the second stanza of the National Anthem, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that Keyamo, from Delta, had appeared before the Red Chamber for his screening as Minister.
President Muhammadu Buhari had submitted a list of 43 ministerial nominees, which was read at the Senate plenary on Tuesday.
“I know you to be intellectually mobile, I want you to recite the national anthem,” Senator Melaye told the ministerial nominee.
The Kogi West Senator was, however, interrupted by the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan.
“That is not a question, you have asked one direct and this one is not a question,” the Senate President told Melaye.
Keyamo was at that point allowed to continue with his remarks and to respond to questions asked by the Senators.
