Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has described former Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment,Okechukwu Enelamah, as a true son of Abia State who represented the state excellently while serving the country.
Ikpeazu said this in a statement made available to Igbere TV on Wednesday through his Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi.
He said Enelamah served Nigeria and his state very well and with the fear of God.
Ikpeazu further said that history will forever be kind to him even though members of Abia APC may not have realized that once you are appointed to serve, you put politics aside and support your president and state to make progress.
The statement reads in full,
“Okechukwu Enelamah, former Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, is a true son of Abia State who represented us excellently well while serving the country.”
“The Ohuhu Umuahia born son of a priest, earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1985. He later earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard University in 1994 where he was a Baker Scholar and Loeb Fellow. He is a member of ICAN (1992) and became a CFA in 1997. He earned Dean’s List honours in his MBBS graduating class at the University of Nigeria, and was awarded national prizes in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examinations.”
“Enelamah who schooled at Government College Umuahia worked as an Audit Senior and Consultant at Arthur Anderson (now KPMG Professional Services) from 1988. He later worked in the New York and London offices of Goldman Sachs from 1993 before joining Zephyr Management as an investment manager where he rose to the position of a Principal in the Johannesburg office between 1995 and 1997. Enalamah founded African Capital Alliance (ACA), a private equity firm, in 1997 where he served as CEO until his appointment to the Industry, Trade, and Investment portfolio in November 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.”
