BREAKING: NNPC Flowstation Shut Down In Delta (Photo)

Batan flow station in OML 42, has been shut down by angry indigenes of Diebiri and Batan Communities in Delta State, Igbere TV reports.

Batan is operated by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, a subsidiary of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

Igbere TV gathered that the residents shut down the flow station to protest Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s “lopsided appointment” into the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

Speaking with our correspondent, the protesters accused the state Deputy Governor, Kingsley Otuaro of ‘cornering’ the DESOPADEC’s appointment slot for his cronies in Gbaramatu Kingdom.

This, they said, is an “outright disregard to production quantum and the people of Diebiri Kingdom”, who claims it is their turn to produce the next member representing Ijaw nation in the oil commission.
