Two members of a three-man robbery gang met their waterloo yesterday, Thursday, July 18.
Igbere TV reports that the robbers had made away with a Toyota Venza car snatched at gunpoint. Unknowing to them, the car had a tracker.
Our correspondent reports that the incident occurred along Etete road area of G.R.A in Benin City, Edo State.
Igbere TV gathered that the car owner had reported the robbery to the police, who immediately swung into action and gave the robbers a hot chase.
The stolen vehicle, Igbere TV learnt, was tracked down at Sapele road area of Benin, along country home motel road.
According to an eyewitness, βtwo died during exchange of fire with the officers, while one managed to escape with bullet wounds but was later caught by the police.β
Igbere TV, however, learnt that the gang member later died at the station from the bullet wounds.
The culprit, before his death, reportedly told officers that they were taking the stolen car to Lagos for sale.
