All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers-elect from Edo State on Tuesday, stormed the National Assembly to demand for proper inauguration of the Edo State House of Assembly, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that the lawmakers are members-elect who were not inaugurated in the last controversial inauguration done by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Our NASS correspondent reports that the 14 APC lawmakers are in the Assembly complex with some loyalists of the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole and over 15 legal practitioners.
House of Reps members from the state led by Comrade Peter Akpatason and Prof. Julius Ihonvbere are expected to move a motion asking the National Assembly to take over the affairs of Edo Assembly until a proper inauguration is done.
It would be recalled that the National Assembly leadership, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Inspector General of Police, had last week, handed down a five-day ultimatum to Obaseki to issue a fresh proclamation failing which they threatened to seal off and take over the Edo Assembly.
More to come…
