House Leadership: Members Set For Showdown With APC Chairman, Oshiomole

Following the zoning of leadership positions in the House of Representatives among the six geographical zones in the country, 21 out of the 24 members of the House of Representatives from Kano state have opposed the purported candidature of Hon. Aminu Goro representing Faggae Federal Constituency, Igbere TV reports.

Describing Goro as Oshiomole’s puppet , the federal legislators expressed displeasure over the plot by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomole to impose Goro as Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.

Maintaining their position to resist any imposition and intimidation by the National  Chairman, the federal legislators urged President Muhammadu Buhari and key stakeholders of the party to wade into the crisis.

Confirming the development on Sunday to Igbere TV correspondent, a top political appointee in Kano state, who craved anonymity, faulted Oshiomole for imposing his stooge, who is not equipped with the goodwill and political experience required for the position of Majority Leader.

He said, “the National Working Committee had allocated principal positions to various zones and as such the legislators from the zone alongside other stakeholders of the party collectively nominated candidates for the principal positions.

” Out of the 24 members from Kano state, 21 have vehemently rejected the purported choice of Goro.

“He is been tipped by Oshiomole for selfish reasons.

” At this point, the APC must put forward people who not only have the political dexterity but the goodwill among their colleagues and the people.

“The federal legislators from Kano state have unanimously rejected Oshiomole’s nominee, Goro for the position of Majority Leader” , he stressed.

It was also gathered that the Governor of Kano state, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and the leadership of the APC in Kano state are strongly opposed to the candidacy of Goro.
