DSP: Kalu Finally Opens Up, Reveals Why He Stepped Down on The Inauguration Eve

Senator Orji Kalu has said he did not step down his quest to become the Deputy Senate President of the 9th National Assembly but withdrew in obedience to party directives and for peace to reign.

Igbere TV recalls that the Abia North Senator withdrew from the race on the inauguration eve, while declaring support for All Progressives Congress adopted Ovie Omo-Agege for the post.

Speaking on Friday while addressing over 100,000 party faithful and supporters who had thronged his Igbere country home in Bende Local Government Area of the state on the occasion of his Victory Thank You Party, the two-time governor said he couldn’t have disobeyed President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

He said he did not withdrew from the race for fear of losing out but because he is a loyal party man who would not disobey the president and the APC, at anytime.

According to him, “I won, APC won, President Muhammadu Buhari won, and Adams Oshiomhole won.

“I could have won the Deputy Senate Presidency, but will not work in peace with the party.”

He said that the future of the country is bright with President Muhammadu Buhari, adding, “and it’s going to be better with him.”

The Forbes-rated billionaire used the opportunity to advise the South East to register for political purposes, saying, “we are the salt of the nation and have the strength to turn the tide.”

He described himself as not a senator of Abia North but of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, assuring his constituents that he will come back to thank them through town hall meetings.
