He also reveals that no governor on the platform of the APC is going with Atiku Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has a message for the just-defected Atiku Abubakar and that is that he can never stand as a threat to President Muhammadu Buhari in any future election in Nigeria.

The governor added that in 2014, he told Atiku in Dubai that Buhari was the most popular northerner that can become president and no other person from the region can beat him in an election.

Atiku was, until Friday, November 24, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He dramatically resigned with a statement giving reasons for his decision.

Even though he has not officially declared the party of his choice ahead of 2019, there are speculations that he may likely join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

El-Rufai, while reacting to Atiku’s resignation from the APC, said even if he is given the presidential ticket of the PDP in 2019, he cannot defeat Buhari.

El-Rufai, a former friend of Atiku, said the latter’s resignation is good for the APC. Speaking at the State House where he joined Buhari in observing juma’at at the Presidential Villa mosque, the governor said the APC knew that Atiku would quit the party in December, 2019.

El-rufai said, unfortunately, no APC governor would join Atiku in his journey as, according to him, Atiku is known as a serial defector and presidential aspirant.

Naijaloaded earlier reported that the PDP said Atiku Abubakar had suddenly seen the light and this is why he has resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said.

The party, which lost election in 2015, said the former vice president’s decision to leave the APC necessitated by the fact that he has seen the difference.
