Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has issued a query to His Eminence, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, over alleged financial misappropriation, Igbere TV reports.
This comes less than 72 hours after the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission recommended the suspension of the emir.
Igbere TV had reported that, the commission said during its investigation, it uncovered that N3.4 billion was misspent by the emirate under Sanusi.
The amount was said to have been misappropriated between 2014 and 2017.
A source who confirmed the development, told Igbere TV that the letter of query was served on the emir on Wednesday.
