BREAKING!!! Ahmad Arrested By The Police

President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr Ahmad Ahmad has been arrested by the Police in Paris, Igbere TV has learnt.

According to reports, Ahmad was arrested on Thursday morning at a hotel in Paris, where he was staying to attend the FIFA Congress.

Igbere TV gathered that the CAF boss was arrested around 8:30 am at Berri Hotel by men of the Central Office for the Fight Against Corruption, Financial and Fiscal Offenses.

According to reports, his arrest was linked to the contract unilaterally broken by CAF with the German equipment manufacturer, Puma, to engage with the company’s Technical Steel, based in La Seyne-sur-Mer.

Signing of the contract which, according to the former Secretary General of the Continental Forum, Amr Fahmy, was favored by the proximity between Ahmad Ahmad and one of the leaders of the French company, whose additional cost would reach 830 000 dollars (739 000 euros).

“All decisions were made collegially and transparently”, he was quoted as saying.

Igbere TV learnt that the arrest comes as Ahmad Ahmad was in Paris to attend the FIFA Congress, which resulted in the re-election of President Gianni Infantino.

NFF Spokesman, Ademola Olajire, confirmed the development.

He said: “Yes. He is in the Central Office of the fight against corruption. It is said that it has to do with CAF unilaterally breaking contract with PUMA to engage a company owned by Ahmad’s friend, Tactical Steel for purchase of equipment for 2018 CHAN.”
