Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has come under fire following his public display of ‘affection’ towards Kogi Paramount Ruler.
In a picture obtained by Igbere TV that has since gone viral on social media, Bello was seen in a warm embrace with the king, while his aides looked on.
While some described the display as “normal”, other social media users have described the act as “disrespectful.”
Among those who came for the governor’s head include the Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye.
Melaye, who recently vowed to unseat Bello in the 2019 Kogi State governorship election, described the governor as disrespectful and rude for hugging a traditional ruler, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, who he said is over 90-years.
He wondered if Sokoto governor will do same to Sultan of Sokoto, Kano governor to Emir of Kano or Kaudna governor to Emir of Zaria.
