Exclusive: How Undergraduate Went Away With Ooni’s N8.6 Million Car (Photos)

The Ooni of Ife has put a smile on the face of an undergraduate after musical talent hunt.

In the wee hours of Sunday, September 11, 2016 an undergraduate Osun state Polytechnic, Shina Desalu Olawale went home with a brand new Toyota Camry 2016 edition valued at N8.6 million courtesy the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi at the recently held Ojaja II Musical Talent Hunt and Concert.

Olawale also has a record deal with the crew in Maryland USA as part of his prize for beating other six contestants at the talent hunt which was witnessed by the Ooni, his Olori, Ooni’s three sisters and their husbands, Nollywood actress Rose Odika, two other royal fathers were also there to give Ooni moral support among other guests which include students of various higher institutions across Osun state.

The first and second runner ups went home with N250,000 and N100, 000 respectively while the remaining four contestants were given N500, 000 by the Ooni as consolation prizes.

On the judges table were DJ Puffy Tee, female drummer Ara, Fliptice Beat, Indomix and Biano.

Yoruba comic actor Lanre Omiyinka put up a well applauded music-comedy performance. Also performing at the event aside the contestants were Ara, Illestnana Elfreda Rowland, Seriki Omo Owo, Wole Sax who treated guests with unadulterated Lagbaja’ s songs and other cultural and traditional perfomances.
