Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Tuesday shook hands with the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, at the Eid praying ground in Kano.
They both have not been together publicly since Ganduje split Kano emirate which used to be under Sanusi’s sole control into five.
Sanusi, dressed in his full royal regalia, shook hands and shared laughs with the governor at the playing ground.
Reports spread on Monday about Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission which recommended Sanusi’s suspension over alleged misappropriation of N3.4 billion.
The first class emir was said to have opposed Ganduje’s re-election bid, a move which backfired after the governor narrowly won a fiercely contested election.
Ganduje, however, has insisted that his move to have more emirates in the state was for development and not vendetta.
