Flying Eagles players have refused to leave their hotel rooms due to unpaid match bonuses, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.
An Airport source told our correspondent on Tuesday that the Flying Eagles have another opportunity to fly out of Poland by 12pm today after missing their 3am flight.
“Players are refusing to head to the airport insisting they must get their money first,” a top official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who craved anonymity, told Igbere TV.
“NFF through the General Secretary and the President has appealed to the boys to please return home and be paid their money but they are not ready to do so.”
Igbere TV recalls that the Flying Eagles of Nigeria had crashed out of the 2019 U-20 World Cup, after losing 2-1 to Senegal in the Round of Sixteen.
Amadou Sagna and Ibrahima Niane got the goals for the Junior Teranga Lions, while Success Makanjuola scored for Nigeria.
