Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has hailed the 17 state governors who met in Lagos on Monday , over their stance on restructuring.
According to him, they are all in support of, “the establishment of true federalism and the devolution of power from the centre in our country.”
Fani-Kayode tweeted on Tuesday: “‘If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few then evil will triumph”- Donald Trump.’
“I commend the courage of the southern governors for calling for the establishment of true federalism and the devolution of power from the centre in our country. Restructure now!”
Six South-West Governors who were at the meeting included: Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode; Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose; Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu; Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola and Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
The Governors of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; Edo State, Godwin Obaseki; Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu; Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom and Ebonyi State, David Umahi, were also present.
Three of the governors were represented by their Deputy Governors. Deputy Governors of Anambra, Dr Nkem Okeke and Cross River State, Professor Ivara Esu and some federal lawmakers were also in attendance.
