Despite making a big history in heavyweight on Saturday, Andy Ruiz got only €5m as pay compared to Anthony Joshua’s €25, reports says.
Igbere TV had reported that Ruiz took home AJ’s three belts, after defeating the heavyweight star at the New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
He beat AJ with just five weeks’ notice after Joshua’s original opponent Jarrell Miller failed three drugs tests in the build-up.
Though, the €5m is Ruiz’s biggest pay in his career, he is expected to earn more in any rematch later this year.
His previous biggest pay for his defeat by New Zealand’s Joseph Parker in 2017, was £770,000, Igbere TV reports.
