Few hours after he was officially handed over to, Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has made his first appointment.
Igbere TV reports that Sanwo-Olu has appointed Mr. Tayo Ayinde as the new Chief of Staff.
Ayinde, Igbere TV gathered, was Sanwo-Olu’s Campaign Director.
Though his appointment has not been made public yet, however, close source to Ayinde confirmed the development to Igbere TV Wednesday morning.
Many friends of Ayinde has bombarded the social media with congratulatory messages.
Igbere TV reports that the out-going Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday officially handed over to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ahead of his inauguration on Wednesday.
Igbere TV recalls that Sanwo-Olu’s emergence followed the decision of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party in the state not to sponsor Ambode as its governorship candidate in the general elections.
Shortly after the handing over at the Government House, Alausa, the governor-elect told newsmen that it “was a very private formal hand over’’.
The governor-elect was accompanied by his running-mate in the election, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
Ambode is the first Lagos State governor to have served a single four-year term after losing re-election bid. ex-governors Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola, served a two term since 1999 – fourth republic, Igbere TV reports.
