Mississippi lawmaker Douglas McLeod is facing backlash after he was arrested for punching his wife in the face because she undressed too slowly for sex. Web users are now tweeting to demand his resignation.
Police responded to a domestic violence call and found the 58-year-old lawmaker so drunk he had “slurred speech and walked slowly in a zig zag pattern”. His wife had blood all over her face, neck and arms and was shaking with fear.
Another woman who was in the home told police McLeod became angry because he wanted sex and his wife hadn’t removed her clothes fast enough. He then pounced on her and beat her up.
He was arrested but is now out on $1,000 bond.Below are some tweets demanding his resignation.
