JUST IN!!! May 30th: Security Beefed Up in S'East Over IPOB Sit-at-Home Order

The Abia State Police Command has warned that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) will be treated as terrorists if their activities truncate the peace and safety of residents.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ene Okon, gave the warning in an interview. He said that anyone associated with IPOB will be treated as a terrorist and dealt with accordingly.

He said: “The Nigeria Police Force In Abia will treat any person associated with IPOB as a terrorist and such a person or group of persons will be dealt with according to the law.”

Okon assured residents to go about their activities without fear, adding that security personnel have been put in strategic places to ensure peace in the state.

He said: “I am assuring the good people of Abia to disregard the illegal order and go about their normal businesses as there is every assurance of protection of lives and properties.”

The commissioner’s statement is in reaction to the May 30 sit-at-home order issued by IPOB to mourn men and women killed in the fight for Biafra.
