Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, has approved the suspension of Dr. Valentine Attah as Chairman of Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Igbere TV reports.
Notice of his suspension was contained in a statement issued to Igbere TV on Wednesday night by Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem.
According to the statement, Attah was suspended over his alleged involvement in an unauthorized recruitment of persons into the Unified Local Government Service.
The SSG said the suspension was with immediate effect.
He, therefore, declared the appointment of those who benefitted from the said recruitment “null and void.”

“His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Governor of Akwa Ibom State has approved the suspension from Office of Sir (Dr.) Valentine I. Attah, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission.
“This is sequel to his involvement in an unauthorized recruitment of persons into the Unified Local Government Service.
“The suspension takes immediate effect pending the outcome of the State audit on the recruitment exercise.
“To this end, appointments of those who benefitted from the said recruitment are hereby declared null and void. ”
