BREAKING NEWS: Soldiers Take Over Jonathan’s Cousin’s Premises
Soldiers, yesterday, seized the premises used by former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Azibaola Robert, as construction site.
Sunday Vanguard correspondent, who visited the premises which shares fence with the Lungui Barracks of the Nigerian Army along the Kubwa/Asokoro Expressway, found that the soldiers drove away workers from the site after they stormed the massive premises around 8pm on Friday.
Some of the soldiers took position at the entrance of the massive construction of Kakarta Civil Engineering Limited while others kept vigil inside the premises overlooking the Katampe hills.
“We are enforcing an order from the the Chief of Army Staff to take over this place and not to allow anyone in or out of the premises,” one of the soldiers told Sunday Vanguard correspondent.
One of the site workers, Mr. Maxwell Udom, told our correspondent that no worker was allowed into the premises by the armed military men, stressing that no prior notice was served before their action.
Mr. Austin Ekeinde, Kakatar’s spokesman, confirmed the invasion of the premises. The Managing Director of Kakatar, Robert, has been battling the EFCC over one of his companies, Oneplus Holdings. This led to EFCC freezing Kakatar accounts, forcing the firm to sack over 2,000 workers recently.
