Report reaching our newsdesk says the lawmakers have now decentralized the Kano emirate council giving the status of first class to the new ones as the lawmakers pass the local government and chieftaincy affairs law.
The new first-class emirs in the state, will rule Rano, Karaye, Bichi and Gaya emirates, Igbere Tv learnt.
According to multiple reports gathered by Igbere Tv, the bill followed a petition filed by Ibrahim Chambers demanding the upgrade of some traditional rulers to the status of first-class emirs.
Igbere Tv was made to know that there had been reports that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje relaunched plans to remove Muhammad Sanusi II as the emir of Kano.
It was gathered that the Kano state public complaints and anti-corruption commission on Monday, May 6, reopened investigation into the expenditure of the state emirate council under Sanusi II.
It was also learnt that at Monday’s plenary of the state House of Assembly, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, the speaker, read a letter from one Ibrahim Salisu and others, seeking the creation of new Kano emirates in Karaye, Bichi, Rano and Gaya.
