Nigeria international Ogenyi Onazi has stated his ambition to achieve great feats with newly appointed Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr.
Onazi was a second half substitute in Wednesday’s preparatory game against Npfl side Akwa United expressed his delight in the new coach and the team’s dream of having a bright start in their 2018 World Cup qualification campaign.
“I have been impressed with our new coach (Rohr) so far and I hope we achieve great success,” Onazi was quoted by SuperSport.
“The game against Akwa United was a good one and it gave the coach opportunity to see us (Super Eagles players) for the first time in a match situation.
“We will try to win on Saturday against Tanzania and hopefully, it sets the tone for a successful World Cup qualifying campaign as we look to go to Russia (for the 2018 Fifa World Cup).”
Rohr who was apppointed as the new Super Eagles technical adviser last month will have his first assignment when the Nigeria host the Taifa Stars in their 2017 Afcon Group B qualifiers fixture at the Godswill Akpabio stadium on Saturday.
